The 2020 NBA playoffs were a different experience from anything players or fans had ever experienced before. The entire tournament (and half of the regular-season before it) took place within "the bubble." In recent years, much has been revealed about players' experiences at that Disney World resort, with most stories depicting difficult adjustments.
Yet, according to former Boston Celtics forward Grant Williams, speaking on the "Club 520" podcast, one player had a far better experience than the rest: LeBron James.
"They had this one pool where you had the shrimps," Williams said. "You'd go get shrimps, you'd go to your room, that was the best food you could get on the bubble, because you couldn't order in from the start. You couldn't get ... takeout. I remember the one time dude went to the edge of the bubble, got suspended for three games. So you couldn't order until I think it was like 50 days in. Not LeBron. LeBron ate good. LeBron had his own room in the top, penthouse, wine...He had a house on the campus...LeBron legit, like, he had his own, he had their own setup. Like, that (expletive) was taken care of."
Williams was part of the Celtics roster during that postseason run. Brad Stevens' team made it to the Eastern Conference Finals, losing to the Miami Heat in six games.
Much to the Celtics' fans' chagrin, the Los Angeles Lakers ultimately won the championship that year, marking the only ring LeBron James has won with the franchise.
Following that experience, Williams played three more seasons with the Celtics before being traded to the Dallas Mavericks as part of a three-team sign-and-trade. He's since been moved to the Charlotte Hornets.
